Really need the rain, we only got about 10 drops this morning, then got really HOT! So heifers were rinsed, a daily thing anyway. Boy 2 asked Hubby if he quit his job, as he has been home 2 days in a row! Hubby has also figured out that between 2pm-3pm is movie, reading, quite time, and we take that very seriously. Pigs are doing good, they sleep a lot and LOVE cookies, you have a cookie and they will follow. Hubby and Boy 1 worked with the wethers, they really do not like heat, they are under fans and are spoiled as just about everything else is around here. Princess has dance recital this coming weekend so that means dance everyday this week, not cool for boys who have to go with and be entertained for hours on end. Oh well! Had a great weekend and it is a good thing Hubby will be going to work tomorrow, as we are back to having cereal for breakfast. A BIG Thank You, to all our service men and women past and present for our freedom. God bless you all! Have A Great Day!

Look who booted us out of bed this morning!
It is a good thing they are cute! I made them scramble eggs, toast and bacon. Then they all left for the barn and left me with all the dishes.  Did I mention it is a good thing they are cute!  Oh well, Hubby is home today, so kiddos and him cleaned out the barn, washed it out and then put new bedding for the spoiled show heifers.  Boy 2 and Boy 3 came in to cool off and watch a movie-they both fell asleep for 2 hours. Boy1, Princess & Hubby washed heifers.  It is hot outside, so I only go out for awhile-you know, I have laundry and food to fix:)  Hope your Memorial Day Weekend is going wonderfully & that you are all enjoying time with your families.

Have A Great Day!

First day of Summer Break was AMAZING!

Tied heifers with Boy1.  Worked with "Drama Queen" wethers, he calls them this as they hate to be worked with from about 10am-5pm.
Boy2 thought there was something wrong with Biggs, just to find out Biggs is lazy from about Noon-4pm.
Boy3 LOOOVVVEESSS having the kids home as great entertainment.
Princess slept until 10am and then found her way outside.
Best part was yesterday afternoon when kids tied heifers high and they all were singing and dancing to "Red Solo Cup".

Today Boy1 and Boy2 went to work with Hubby as it is sheep shearing day.  Some of you know how much Hubby loves sheep, so boys had to go and help:)
Boy3 and I have been in the barn, oh and found a new heifer tied up- and was informed to enter her for NJHA!  If you are keeping tally that means we are taking 4.
Princess is up and going as she can have her way in the barn this morning and she has dance class this evening.
Busy and fun and relaxing all at the same time!
Pictures to come later today:)
Have a Great Day!

It is SATURDAY!!! Now that we all know that, Friday was an afternoon full of errands and dance class. Princess is getting ready for dance recital in a few weeks, so that means more and longer practices.  I usually make homemade Pizza and Breadsticks, a recipe from K7 Herefords, but instead we had "box pizza".  Ate it cold as I did not judge chore time well, cleaned it up and lost the computer for over an hour. Boy 1, his dad and on the phone with Great Gpa watched Star Lake Hereford Embryo sale, we all know Boy 1 has great taste, most the time in cattle really it is bred in to him-haha, last night he just could not believe he was not there & Cousin A was.  I will here that again next weekend as we are not going to Tennessee River Music inc. this year.  When did 12 year olds get more worldly than 30 somethings? When did he get to be 12? Oh we could keep going on and on!! So for now, here are a couple of pictures from the "intense" sale, just look at him.

I think ince it is going to be hot today, and kids are home, I am going to stay inside until about 8pm:)
Have A Great Day!

End of school year rush has happened to our house! How about yours?  So for a little down time this morning boy 3 and I are outside swinging.
No more watering the pigs as we finally got the 100 year old automatic waterer to work.  Okay, not a 100 year old, but really close!
Lambs are doing good, they only like to be outside from 7-8am and then from 7-8pm, rest of time in the cool part of the barn.  That will change after Tuesday, or so I have been told by boy1.
Heifers were clipped over the weekend, June no longer looks like Yoda-which is kind of sad to me, she made me laugh:)
We have lost a halter, but have lots, but that is an important one, why? I don't know. So the search is on. Boy 3 is getting the blame.  After we swing we have t go search. What color is it?

Hope your end of school year slows down in the next week!

Have a Great Day:)

Have A Great Day:)
Hi Ho Hi Ho out to the barn we go! First, cinnamon rolls and bacon. Then to breed one of princess cows, Mothers Day and making mama cows mamas again. Is that weird, maybe, but not for here. I am sure pictures will be taken and posted later today, although the Hubby asked for me not to take a picture of him breeding the cow! Happy Mothers day all. Have A Great Day:)

Saturday, May 12, 2012

I know I have been gone a few days- sorry, not much going on except for dance class, soccer practice, 1st grade Mothers Day tea.  So far this gray, cloudy, cool morning chores have been done, heifers tied and Boy 1 is working with sheep.
This picture was choring this morning it was chilly, but check out what Boy 3 wore. Chilly, not Freezing!

Have A Great Day:)

A day full of watering, boy 3 thinks it should happen every 10 minutes or so.  Boy 2 came home and informed me the barrows missed him and that they each wanted their own cookies, so I gave him one for each, it was only right.  Boy 1 is at soccer practice and it is chore time, guess I better go take orders from Princess, boy 2 & boy 3, you know I never chored before in my life and they know best:)
Have A Great Evening!

PS- You know how I said I really dislike hay, well I do!

Tuesday, May 8, 2012

Boy 3 and I have had a busy morning, WATERING! Yes, apparently our offical job is Water Boy, or in my case, Water Mom.  Why didn't anyone water this morning before school?  "We could have gotten wet, then had no clothes."  I am so happy they were whinking of the mountain of laundry, and if you believe that. It is Olympic Day for boy 1, green shirt and basketball shorts and Relay Recess for princess and boy 2, which means orange shirts and basketball shorts.  Hubby is mowing hay today, first cutting and is as happy as Christmas Morning.  Oh hay, how I will dislike you by July, not August this year! Anyway, here is a picture of  how well, boy 3 and I water, the pigs are so happy with us!
Have A Greay Day!

Monday, May 7, 2012

Sunday at the funny farm was a full day!  Wethers are now getting used to people, well kids, kids that run past there pen and yell, "Hi Sheep!"  So what is a wether, a castrated male sheep- thank you to the dictionary on the ipad! But, for the kids, especially boy 1, a wether is a friend for the summer.  He tried to tell them that as he was rubbing on them yesterday.  The winner of the stand still with the wether contest was not boy1, nope not at all, it was Hubby, and the funny part is Hubby does not really even care for lambs, ewes, wethers, rams, anything that says BAA!  Good Job Honey:)
Today, Monday, boy 3 and I took kids to school, which boy 2 was going to tell his teacher he could not have anymore homework as now he has pigs to take care of and that they will miss him today, Sorry Mrs. 1st grade! Boy 3 and I are the only ones here today with all the animals, oh what are we going to go rub on first?
Have a Great Day:)

The Princess and the pigs!
Day 1 with the new critters has gone almost well! Wethers (Fred and Franky) had to be weighed for State Fair today, of course they both weighed 86lbs! Barrows (Ditty and Biggs) keep knocking over feed, so new feed arrangements will be made or boy #3 is going to hand feed them! Hereford show heifers are not so scared of the new critters, but Market heifers are. The girl is really liking getting muddy with the barrows, boy #4 is liking all new arrangements. Remember it is only 11am! Rumor has it when boy #1 gets home, show heifers are going to be washed and blowed and spoiled rotten, so I better get something out for supper to be thawing now. Pictures are coming, as soon as I figure out how to do that! Have a great day!
